The Average Cost of Rhinoplasty Surgery

rhinoplasty cost example

The costs of rhinoplasty vary significantly between surgeons, medical facilities, and regions of the country and even within a state. Of course, the cost of surgery also varies with the extensiveness of the procedure. Someone who needs just a bit of work done on the tip of their nose is going to spend less than someone who needs to have the dorsum, nostrils, and septum of their noses adjusted. And of course, if you have other procedures performed at the same time as your rhinoplasty, such as a face lift or brow lift, expect to pay more.

The fees for a surgical procedure can usually be separated into five parts:

1. The surgeon's fee

2. The anesthesiologist's fee

3. Hospital charges, which includes nursing care and cost of the operating room

4. Medications

5. Any additional charges that may arise

If your nose job is being done in your surgeon's office, there may or may not be an additional charge for the use of the facility.

Your surgeon may ask you to have a physical by your regular physician or have blood tests done. The hospital may require you to have a chest X-ray taken. These are extra costs that are not included in the surgeon's fee. Medications such as pain relievers and antibiotics are also extras that are usually not covered by the fee. If you need to stay overnight in the hospital or a recovery center, this is also extra.

All fees listed here are averages and include out-patient charges, surgeon fees, anesthesia, operating room charges, and implants, unless otherwise noted.
